Expert Care for Impacted and Problematic Wisdom Teeth
Sumner Dental Group is proud to provide wisdom tooth extractions in-house, allowing patients to receive convenient, comprehensive care from a team they already know and trust without the need for outside referrals. Wisdom teeth, also known as third molars, often cause problems as they emerge because most mouths simply do not have enough room to accommodate them properly. When that happens, they can become impacted, push against neighboring teeth, or lead to infection if left untreated.
When that happens, our Gallatin team is equipped to evaluate and treat the issue right in our office, saving you the extra step of visiting a separate oral surgeon. From your first evaluation through recovery, you will be working with the same familiar faces, which means less time coordinating between offices and more time focused on feeling better.

Recovering After Wisdom Tooth Removal
- Stick to soft foods for the first few days, gradually reintroducing solid foods as you heal
- Use a cold compress on the outside of your jaw to help manage swelling in the first 24 to 48 hours
- Avoid using a straw, smoking, or rinsing vigorously, since these actions can dislodge the healing blood clot
- Take any prescribed or recommended pain medication as directed to stay ahead of discomfort
- Contact our office if you experience excessive bleeding, fever, or pain that worsens instead of improving
